The purpose of this course is to assist you in the process of accurately identifying children who are experiencing challenges in their social-emotional development, through the Early Intervention evaluation process. In this course you will have opportunities to review information on the policies and regulations that guide the Early Intervention evaluation process, review social-emotional constructs and competencies, identify and apply strategies for gathering, integrating and interpreting information throughout the evaluation process, explore situations where using a social emotional tool during the evaluation process is needed, explore information on various social emotional evaluation tools and practice selecting social emotional tools as a key part of the evaluation process. This Job Aid provides a general overview of the Developmental Assessment of Young Children, 2nd Edition (DAYC-2), which is an evaluation tool used in early intervention.  This Job Aid is not meant to serve as a complete training for individuals wishing to learn how to administer the tool. It can be used in conjunction with in-person assessment training.
