The purpose of progress monitoring is to identify steps the child is making to successfully participate in their everyday activities and routines. Effective progress monitoring begins with the assurance that identified outcomes/goals are functional and measurable, followed by identifying an efficient plan for data collection. In this course, participants will identify outcomes/goals that are functional and measurable and identify a process for collecting data. The process will include determining what data is being collected, who will collect the data and when, where, and how the data will be collected. Throughout the course, participants will follow a case study and engage in activities to practice strategies discussed.
Credits: 3 Act 48 hours and/or 3 Infant Toddler Clock Hours/C.A.T. Hours
Registration: This course is available by registering on the PaTTAN online registration Training Calendar. Choose the quarter in which you would like to take the course and then click on the course title listed on the 1st day of that quarter (July 1, October 1, January 1, or April 1). Approximately 10 days prior to the end of each quarter, registration will close, and no one will be able to register for the course within that quarter. During this period, everyone will need to wait until the first day of the next quarter to register and complete the course. Users who complete the course will be awarded Act 48 credits at the end of each quarter. The credits will be dated with the last day of that quarter. It may take up to 30 days from the end of the quarter for users to see their Act 48 credits in the Professional Education Record Management System (PERMS).
